Alternative title: making a V1 bomb out of a Robin reliant

I'm gonna be cynical and guess that someone clever worked out that the separated Robin would have been too floaty (i.e. uncontrollable), and a danger to those on the ground, but the info didn't come in until the kit was bought. Ergo, they opted to keep the Robin bolted to the fuel tank to provide a more controlled plummet, and of course an impressive explosion (a la Brainiacs).

All things considered, if you were a bunch of rocket enthusiasts having the BBC fund you to do this must have been a dream cos it’s incredibly cool. What a buzz seeing it work and then the SRB’s detaching.
