Aston Martin Vantage | Car Review | Top Gear

Jeremy Clarkson test drives the Aston Martin Vantage, with a V12 engine. In his own words, ‘Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful’. Great review from series 13 of BBC’s Top Gear.

Remember watching the episode when it came out, and really thought it was the end of TG…

My Dad loved this sequence so much that it was the first time I ever saw him cry, I was only 8. 10 years later this was the song he requested to be played at his funeral because of this scene, love and miss you Dad.

Don't worry Jezza. They just made the Victor now. Also V12 and stick shift. It's not over just yet…

As engines continue to be downsized and electric technology continues gathering pace this video becomes more and more poignant.

To me, this is the best review that has ever been produced through Top Gear. Everything that has been done throughout Top gear has been amazing, but this one holds a special place in my heart

Once in a while I search for this video and feel sad and happy at the same time. Happy to be alive in a time with such great automobiles. Sad that it is an ending. That gorgeous v12…. Al that tiny parts working together to create the greatest symphony mankind ever heard.
This video is pure art and a kind of requiem from Clarkson. You sir, are the best.

September 2020. Today Boris' government said they want new cars with combustion engines banned by 2030. About half the time between Jeremy reviewing that V12 Aston and us reaching that deadline has gone already.

Part of me moves this review to the end of Series 22 episode 7. Clarkson's last episode on Top Gear. Seems very fitting somehow.

I remember this being very emotional. It's the music! It's a very emotional piece by Brian Eno – An Ending. It's also the way the video is presented being complemented by the emotional music to go with the concept of the video being an ending. An ending of brilliant mechanical engineered cars that were fun to drive before slowly having their voices taken away by manufactures with pressure to make cars more economical and environmentally friendly eventually making the switch from a mechanical powerplant to an electrical one!

This ending inspired me to own a piece of British modern motor history and to buy a DB9…and after many years of saving up and dreaming I’ve got it and it’s it’s absolutely wonderful to own one and even to sit in my garage with a drink and just take in the outstandingly gorgeous sexy lines of the bodywork…it’s a piece of art

Even the homeless could understand how bad the technology it has. Especially the transmission is worst ever. You British love to exaggerate a thing if you guys made it. My friend sold that car he bought 2 weeks ago because of shitty transmission box. It’s like one clutch Toyota auris . Shifting is really bad. Takes 2 seconds to get upper gear
