I believe that after WW2, Marshall Plan funding, for the Italian automotive sector went to Fiat and others. This was because the owners of Lancia fought against the Axis in guerrilla units that were pro-communist (??); Lancia never had the levels of capital to compete.

Grew up in Canada, we never had any lancia’s here, always thought they were rotary powered because the way the Lancia badge is shaped lol. It looks like a Dorito Rotor.

Another genius safety feature created by Lancia.
They knew that firstly people ignore warning lights and secondly even if they do notice them they have no idea what problem they are highlighting.
A brilliant solution, nobody is going to ignore the engine bay on fire and the problem is obvious even to the least mechanically minded driver.

Cela vaut même pas la peine que je reponde dans votre langage de barbares, les anglo-saxons n’ont jamais été capables de comprendre le raffinement des Lancia, surtout de les entretenir avec soin, sous leur climat abominable. Lancia a été 11 fois champion du monde des rallyes, record qui ne sera probablement jamais égalé, et surtout pas par les marques britanniques, dont les seules survivantes ont été vendues aux Indiens. This vidéo is a shame, maybe you understand it

2:59 the license plate falling off made me lose my shit. It really cemented the concept that the car was falling apart as they drove it. (of course then the bumper and bonnet fell off as well, but the license plate was the first indication)
