Thing is you can get very similar power and 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds with the much cheaper M235i, it's the same engine.

Is the M2 really worth the extra £20k+ if you just use it on the road and it only achieves less than half a second 0-60mph difference?

Doug please review the manual transmission M225i too.

I've got a manual M235i and it beats V8 Mustangs every single time, I've got the M performance exhaust, so it's almost as loud as the V8 Mustang too.

When I started it up at Santa Pod Raceway at the closing event last October, it made a mechanic roll out from under a hot rod Nova, just to see what car made the noise. A true affordable European muscle car is the M235i.

When will the drag strip's reopen? Is COVID-19 the start of the end of internal combustion drag racing?

Check my channel for Jet cars doing 298mph in 1/4 mile over here in England.

The non-adaptable suspension turned me off when I drove one. I can handle hard suspension if you can have a soft mode, too. Even my BMW motorcycles have adjustable ride. So, I bought a M240i instead with money left over for another bike. Better ride, better engine, more subdued styling, etc. I may revisit an M2 with the new S58 engine.

If you can afford a new Toyota, you can buy this car used. Do so. It will be every bit as fun as unattainably expensive dream cars.

0-60 in 4.5secs, not 4. And it's universally known that the e46 M3 is the best M car ever.

I was on my way to sell an Audi Mk1 TT for a BMW 320i but I had a chance to drive it a few days first. BMW felt stable and very smooth it had a certain amount of engine power but compared to the TT it felt like slow motion. TT has a massive boot space but no room for the rear seats but its easy to move in the rear compared to a huge back on the 320I. TT is much more fun to drive the way it speeds through and connects you to the road but the BMW has a luxury feel the Audi does not. This M2 sounds like the two mixed together and my wife wants a BMW so it will suit her too.

Man, I'd love it if American muscle cars shrink their bodies to this size. Drove the camaro and it's fantastic to drive but too big to really toss about in the city or park easily. The interior is crappy (which I didn't mind) and visibility from inside is very poor. I could overlook a few of these kinks but all of them combined proved to be a deal breaker. The 90s camaro was the perfect size. Take away the back seat, it's useless anyway, and give us a something fun.

Would an educated person (let alone a "professional writer") say "more narrow than either of the aforementioned." ? Not "narrower than both cars". For god's sake. Shows (much like Trump it is showmanship and not much else).

0 to 60 in 4 sec is not fast by todays standard, I think I would still go with a caymen for the style and the more old school driving experience, but if you have to have BMW, this would be the one.
