On Cars – A sexy Lexus you can afford (CNET On Cars, Ep. 107)

Drive this hot Lexus and shrug off the sneers you’ll get from the BMW crowd. So much for progress — road deaths are way up. And do tires really need to be connected?

I believe that car manufacturers should not use OLED. Oled suffers from screen retention and screen burn in. This can be more exaggerated because these phenomenons are caused by keeping an image on the same place all the time, which I can see something like a speedometer or tachometer being burned.

Regarding the Lexus IS F sport, As of March 13, 2018, a quick check showed that these can be found for sale for about $32k with an average of about 15k miles.

No phone use but cars keep giving us more connectabiliy with every year

I like the digital displays, but still would prefer a few static real ones like the speedo and tach

I hope they're reliable. No one wants their display panel to go out while on a trip. Other than using a phone app, what would one do when this happens out on the interstate on a road trip?

In terms of value, I believe the Mazda6 or Accord or Camry would be a better choice. Is the IS as roomy as any of those three?
    More HP? More reliable?

From a safety perspective, how does this front end styling work since it doesn't seem to really have a "front bumper"?
Seems like we need front bumpers as well as rear bumpers for safety on cars. It would be nice to be able to simply replace a bumper if you had a small incident, or simply bumped into something., or had someone bump into you like a parking lot incident perhaps. If someone hits the nose of this car, what kind of repair bill are you going to get?$$$?

I believe from here on, until we reach full autonomous driving cars, accidents will go up.
It's human nature, the more assistance we get, the more we relax and aim our concentration on other things.
Most ppl are STUPID! when it comes to traffic. I know ppl that are skilled engineers, ppl that are CEOs of companies, in charge of hundreds of ppl. they are hardly stupid, they would not have gotten to where they are in life if they where. But they can't drive worth shit!

Not all are meant to be carpenters, they don't have the skills, so they go another path in life.
Not all are meant to be mathematicians, they don't have the head for numbers, so they don't go that route.
BUT EVERYONE think they got the skills to be a driver. It's there god given right to maneuver 2 tons of metal!
There are to many ppl out there who don't have the slightest clue how to behave in traffic. Some could not even use the indicator where there life depending on it!

I see ppl every day, swerving all over the road, one second they go 20 under the limit, the next they speed up, doing everything but driving. Not realizing that if anything unexpected should pop up, it will be up to chance if they kill someone, or not, with that 2 ton sledgehammer they are supposed to be in control of!
Automatic breaking sure will help, until it fails and someone dies.

The reason fatalities is on the upswing is due in large part to the fact that all this so-called safety technology like lane-keeping and distance-regulating cruise control is making a generation of bad drivers. No one wants to be responsible for driving their car, they'd rather be effing around on their phones to pay attention. This will only get worse the more "driver assist" crap they shovel into new cars.

well maybe they should, coz the first car i ever heard of owners being trapped inside of was the new in '06, Bmw 3 series. And for a couple years they had that issue—very unhappy customers/owners
