The street legal Demon runs the fastest quarter-mile of any production car ever and does it so violently that the front wheels are lifted from the ground.

I like how it's now the fastest 0-60 of any production car and instead of going the easy route like Tesla with AWD and electric power, it's just a massive American V8 with enough power to rip somebody's face off.

The car isn't "banned" they just said it needs a harness and rollcage before you can race it.

this is why chrysler is in financial trouble again. yeah, this car is freaking incredible but very few people will buy is and very little money will be made. but they cant make a smaller car, where the money is made, that people will buy. and their van used to make them tons of money and was at the top of that pack. now its at the bottom of the pile.

  • So… it's useless? A bad street legal car that can't compete?

  • Nukes Away
    April 12, 2017

It just needs a cage to compete legally. I believe that if you run faster than a 10 Second at higher than 150 you need a cage. That is why it is 200 lbs lighter, so you can add a cage.

Enjoy your 0-100 because anyone comparing this to the sturdiness of the chiron is a fool and a tool. Past 100 I guarantee the volkswagen beast will rocket away at ease.

Nine Second Club: Chiron, Veyron, 918, P1, Laferrari and Demon. Not impressed, then what are you impressed by? BTW, 1 Million Dollar Car Club: Chiron, Veyron, P1, 918, and Laferrari. Guess what, the Demon is not a million dollars. It is less than 1/10 the cost. Lamborghini doesn't have a 9 second car. BMW, AMG, Audi, Lexus, nothing from them.

Dislike. No wheelie's were popped. Yes, I know the title says "a wheelie-popping hell-raiser" and not "Dodge Demon pops wheelie" but still.

  • Vlad The Inhaler

Active suspension shifts weight to the rear on launch and helps that wheelie, it helps traction too, but that wheelie is science-assisted, not just a raw wheelie.

A lot of 300hp cars can do wheel stands . also a lot of garage built cars that can take it down . nothing more then a over priced factory hotrod . can make same power for alot less money in the car of my choice. You can have all these new cars

Anyone can build a fast car. This is not some innovative crap that noone has done before with "cutting edge technology." The Callaway Sledgehammer in 1988 ran 254mph with every factory option and on 91 Octane. A Corvette Callaway was a production car option 187mph top speed and the Sledgehammer was a limited edition tuner just like the GT500 Supersnake. Speed and horsepower isn't new.
