Here's What a $180,000 Porsche Was Like In 1994

The Porsche 928 GTS cost $88,000 in 1994 — the equivalent of $180,000 in today’s money. I’m reviewing the Porsche 928 GTS to show you what you got for your money.

I was a mechanic at a shop about 20 years ago and an early 928 came in for a safety inspection. A very cool car. Magnesium lug nuts, a handful of them were so light you almost couldn't feel them in your hand.

Doug, I may be wrong but I think the rear sub visors are to fold all the way back so they touch the rear glass before you get in. In these Coupe cars the rear passengers tend to end up underneath the glass, and on a hot day effectively get 'grilled'

Come on Doug, you're the second 928 reviewer who doesn't use a bit of common sense about the rear sun shades. They flip up BEHIND the passengers against the large rear window to shield them from the sun. It was a very good idea, actually.

'The 928 has faded into obscurity…' What rubbish! 928's are highly regarded, very collectable GT's, their values increasing with every passing year.

What a dork. You critiqued a Porsche 928 GTS and didn’t drive it on the highway. IOW, you didn’t drive AT ALL. It was built to cross Germany in a couple hours.
