the 2015 civic lx surprised the hell out of me with the horrible audio system. i know its an lx but damm my 25yrs old accord sounded better than a 2015 model year vehicle.

Brian should have brought in an audio expert to explain what each of those DSP settings do. He was pretty dismissive of them, which probably means he doesn't understand them enough. Reverb is echo, they aren't two separate things, and it's been around since the 1960s in cars.

When my phone is connected to my car via Bluetooth it automatically puts my phone volume all the way up and I have never noticed distortion, but I will try putting it at 3/4 volume and see if it sounds better that way.

bluetooth is digital, there won't be any background noise if you have it too low. 100% shouldn't distort anything either. I leave my bluetooth volume on 100%

Understand that if you really care about the way your car sounds, go aftermarket. It's always less money and better quality than the factory "upgrade" if you want to save even more money learn how to do it yourself. It's easy, just takes some patience
