If McLaren wants to raise some funds, they should start recreating these cars and selling them.

Senna was the best because he had a true passion and was good at it. He tried as hard as he possibly could and was an amazing person while doing it.

Lots of Top Gear is just daft fluff, but this particular segment is simply outstanding as a piece of journalism.

Its been such a long time, but still seeing Senna documentaries gets me emotional and takes me back to that dreaded sunday. F1 would never be the same again. At those times seeing Senna drive, weather in practice, qualifying or race was indeed spectacular.

He would risk yout life for a gap with no remorse and risk his life to help some else. I guess he got what he deserved a place in sports history and a short life.

"If you no longer go for the gap, you are no longer a racing driver" one of the greatest ever quotes by one of the greatest driver ever to exist. Sadly doesnt seem like stewards car about this anymore. I race professionally and was given a 5 second penalty for going up the inside of another driver and he turned in on me and went of the track. Guess what? I got a fucking 5 second penalty and got pushed into second. Its happened on multiple occasions and I dont plan on racing in that series anymore. RIP senna

Wonderful person but had he tried those intimidations in the early ‘60s, he would either kill himself or others.

This is why Aryton Senna and Niki Lauda are the greatest F1 drivers to ever live. The greatest performances to have ever been given. Senna's ability for track knowledge and Lauda's incredible persistence even after his accident in 1976.

    Aryton Senna and Niki Lauda

The Greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time

This is hardly a tribute, more of a hagiography really.
Senna was deeply flawed, reckless and prone to massive mistakes. His very death at Imola is probably due to his desperate attempt to win after scoring 0 points in two races in the best car. Getting rid of his gurneys, lowering the car to the max and keeping racing while the car was clearly misbehaving according to Schumacher who was directly behind Senna, not mentioning the late request of his request to have his direction column modified…
Also, one would be wise to review what his fellow drivers would say about him from 1984 to 1992.
Yes, he was faster on Saturdays.
Yes, he had an obsession with winning at all cost.
However, this led him to make very poor and discutable decision.
The best Senna was the one driving the remarkable MP4/8. He mellowed, and was less brutal, smoother and more efficient, being paid on a race-as-you-go basis.
Now, was he the best driver ever? Certainly not, as this concept is for fools only, fantards and widows alike.
There are a handful of drivers who both dominated their era and managed to net the record of victories:
Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Prost, Schumacher and, very soon, Hamilton.
Senna belong with the excellent drivers, and even if he had a good spell, like Vettel or Alonso or Lauda, he doesn't belong to that group of elite drivers, each best of his era, each immensely talented, each legendary.

Senna was an idol of an entire generation in Brazil, ask in Brazil who people admire most, Senna or Pele, and the research will give Senna for sure.
