Dude still think's it's 2010. He might as well still think today that diesels are smoky and slow, or complain about cars sold with carburetors.

I’m not that bothered by his comments on EVs. With his age and what he’s been involved in his whole life it’s completely unsurprising.
But if he can be won over by paddle shift, he’ll be won over by EVs as well I’m quite sure.

Lamborghini built both tractors and SUVs in the past

EVs making the first E Prix is just awesome!

Ummmm…. Lamborghini built the LM002 from 1986 – 1993. It was where GM got all their ideas for the HUMV and Civilian Hummer. So why is it a shock that they are building an SUV?

"Are you kidding? Do you know who you're talking to?"
Love it

Gas engines are the best. Racing dies with EVs.

I met Mario at Laguna Seca many years ago at an Indy Car event. I was a Safety Marshall and we happened to be in the same area around the Start-Finish line during our lunch break. It wasn't like we were discussing nuclear physics or anything but he was personable, seemed to appreciate the course workers, and was really pleasant to talk with.
His comments here regarding EV performance vs conventional race cars reflects his (and my) bias toward an internal combustion engine that you control the performance in a much more intimate relationship than just stand on it and hang on… not to say that standing on the throttle of a big-block isn't "just stand on it and hang on;" you'd better be watching for the end of that straight… it's coming up REALLY fast!!
Mario's comments toward the new technologies is very astute though, in that technology will evolve but keeping the driver's involvment and interest is imperitive if you want the larger fan base to appreciate what they're watching. Video games get old real fast and they're way too predicatable to sell enought tickets to keep the racers in business… and one never wants to lose sight of the fact that this is still a business.

The awe for Dan Gurney is apt, and very touching.

The interviewer Is poor. 🙁
Herman Schmidt
He's saying EV's are soulless and dead, like our country (U.S.) is becoming…

Can’t believe how tiny Mario is compared to the interviewer! How tall is Mario?

God bless Mario Andretti he has always been an amazing amazing man in every respect and he'll be missed when he's gone but he still here and still a very entertaining I wish you would go over some of the videos that are out on him raising have him explain what he was doing when he was over taking this guy or trailing this guy I think that b fashion any so if anybody has contact with me really should have them go over these videos and and actually give his own assessment as to what's going on when he's racing that would be

Thank you Mario for your heartfelt eulogy of Dan Gurney. Your love and respect for Dan is honest and true. Someday somewhere I can envision you and Dan and Jimmy and maybe a few others dicing for the lead in the GP of Eternity! (But not too soon, of course, plenty of time for eternity)
