Too bad that in NY you won't pass the annual safety inspection with any sort of tint. Windows must pass at least 70% of light in NY.

In California the rear windows can be any darkness, the front can’t have any tint. That doesn’t stop like 80% of people from having the front tinted tho lol

If I'm driving though new jersey which says I can't have window tint, but have a Georgia tag, which is where I'm from, can I get a ticket and ask to remove it? I'm around 30% on my truck

no way you can add 70% tint to a 20% tinted window and have it transmit 50% of light. it's multiplication. 70% of 20% is 14%. if you have 2 layers of 50% tint then it's 50%*50%=25%.

That's why I love Florida we can have dark tint

  • I can't wait for adjustable window tint. As a Floridian, everyone here has dark 10% tint. Limit is 35%, but we don't care. It's an issue traveling to another state though. So I'd like if I could adjust it for privacy.

Expel also makes a great product! Black plastic trim parts? Yeah..Nothing says "quality" like black plastic trim! In my state the tint law is quite strict yet everyday I see cars that are illegal to be on the roads!

Tint the top 6" of your windshield. It doesn't go below your rearview mirror so it doesn't obstruct your line of sight.

As always, a great video, thanks, Mr. Cooley. I do have a question that's been bugging me for a while: when are we going to be able to 'cut the cord' from our phones to Android Auto and/or Apple Car Play? Have they not heard of Bluetooth? What's up with that, or is it even possible?

Your math is wrong, you don't add the tint blocking values together, you multiply the visible light transmission (VLT). So, it isn't 30% + 20%, it's 70% * 80%, which gives 56% VLT.

Actually here in Honduras we want dark window tint for safety, if your seen with a new car and have no window tints you will be the target of thefts, and thankfully here we are allowed to use rlly dark tint

Unfortunatly NY says its illegal. "For officer safety". That logic is VERY flawed. They say passenger cars can ONLY have the rear window done. No sides. But trucks/suvs can have the rear, rear quarter windows, and rear passenger windows. If its "officer safety" – why have different laws.

Idfc though. I want mine dark. 5% rear – 20% sides. Its a $250 tickets. Screw it.

in my state your allowed to have 35 percent tint for the front window and 20 percent tint in the rear, and window tint darker then that will get you pulled over ant ticketed,
