This 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX is pristine — and it’s perfect example of a first-generation DSM car. Today I’m showing you around this perfect 1990 Eclipse GSX AWD and I’m reviewing the Eclipse to show you why the original DSM was so cool.

I got one of these as my ‘go to college’ car. It was the turbo 5 speed. Man…. it was a damn fun car to drive around central Texas!!! I had it until I bought my first ‘adult’ car. I didn’t trade it in when I bought my BMW 325i convertible & really I still enjoyed the Mitz more!! I finally sold it in 2001 when I got married but I really did love that car!!

I owned a brand new '90 Eagle Talon Tsi, the equivalent of the Eclipse GS (both turbo, FWD). I still think of it as one of the most fun cars I've owned, and I loved the styling, performance and value. Only issues were torque steer, which the AWD version (GSX or Tsi AWD) cured, and warping front rotors. It was also the fastest car I've driven, as in 120 on the interstate. I wish I still had it and one actually just sold on Bring a Trailer for about $18K, but I realized it was just trying to take 30 years off my age, which it couldn't do, so I didn't bid. Now I wish I did. Oh well.

They got it right on the 2nd gens. I had a 95 Talon Tsi and it was a little race car. I miss it.

I traded my 1991 Isuzu Impulse with an AWD Eagle Talon TSI for a night back in 1994 and it was an amazing night. That car was like a rocket ship to my 16 year old existence. Very fun. Attracted lots of ass that night.

Sadly, you focused your efforts on making fun of this car as if your viewers have never seen an old car before, RATHER than actually appreciating this emaculate machine. God you are fucking annoying… damn you.

Looks exactly like the one I bought in 1990. I loved that car! You can't rate a 1990 car by today's standards because there has been 30 years of technology advancement. In 1990 this was a sweet ride & yes Doug it was fun. Maybe you should just try to enjoy the car instead of making fun of it.
