Automatic Transmission Fluid, which is basically very pure mineral oil, will replace the lost oils in the plastic and bring the black back, apply once a week for about 3 weeks will last a long time, then a single application once it fades brings it back again. Best done when the plastic is hot, either in the sun or warmed with a hairdryer.

You're the man cooley, another super informative to the point video. I have always rubbed 'silglyde' into my rubber door seals its super cheap at $8 a tube (and does about 10 cars) its a silicone based sealant that gives the rubber almost a waxy gasket-like seal. Last about a year.
