You have no idea how much I would love a trunk light switch. My 89 firebird trunk light doesn't turn off unless the trunk is closed properly, and considering that the motor mechanism in the trunk latch doesn't work 90% of the time being able to manually turn that light off would help so much

You say the MX-5 is gorgeous and it gets only a 7? What would it take to get a 9 or a 10? I think your numbering system is often too low.

    I'm surprised he fits.

I am 6'1, and have never fit in any Miata. As soon as I get in, the only way to look forward is over the TOP of the windshield.

I just bought a 2016 Miata with 155 hp. It is so cool and plenty of power. I used to have a C5 zo6 and a 350z and this car is by far the best sports car I’ve driven.

6:30 – "Obviously it must be some integral component of the car" – That sir would be the transmission.. So you would be correct in your statement.

You think the passenger hump is bad…?
S13 owners have to deal with that every time they drive. Not sit in the passenger lol.

Hasn't Mazda been putting speakers in the head rests since the 90's?
Just about every modern manual transmission vehicle these day s have a gear indicator which also makes recommendations for upshifting – even skipping gears. Nothing new here.
They give you the option to turn off the light in the trunk because the trunk is so small that the chances of you having an item that is too large for the trunk requiring you to tie the trunk lid shut (keeping the light on) is high. This way you won't burn out the light.

I myself had both a NA mx5 and now a NC mx5, and with a tune headers ect. so it makes about 185 hp with 225 nm, and this might be low for some people but on track with grippy tires and brakes you can pretty much chase Porsches and m3's. However i spend a few hundered dollars on service and not a thousand.

Pressing that button by the temp gauge does just display/reset the trip odometer on my 2020 MX-5. I guess the "focus engine temp" thing only applies to the RF models?

    But pop up headlights…..

  • SIMPLY the BEST TRUE SPORTS "FUN" CAR EVER! This is an excellent review too. Yes, I have seen them all! A Boxsters is X 3 more $$$. & The only thing you will hear is " Do you realize just how fast you were going?" & Yes Sir I do can you reduce the ticket SVP! Stick to the MX5 and drive a slow car FAST. Not a fast car SLOW! (it is always better) Signed MX5 RF GS-P comments?

As a current owner of a first gen MINI Cooper S (160 HP) and former owner of two new 600cc sport bikes I appreciate low HP speed, handling, and fun over bragging rights. As a former owner of a stage 2 WRX and a modded 350Z I also appreciate the power and bragging rights of higher HP vehicles.

With that being said this MX-5 needs more power in today's world. It would cost Mazda very little to release a TC or SC version of these cars with 220-240 HP and a minimal weight increase.

If you must call it a Miata, it's pronounced MiaTa, not MiaDa.

If Mazda understood their customers, they wouldn't have added the extra weight of that intake pipe into the cabin.

Making turn signals louder is a great idea!! I never ever notice turn signals in my VW when the radio is on what's worse, the steering wheel perfectly covers the indicatios so I did happen to be driving around with hazard lights on for a while befor I noticed they were on…

Talks about how it needs more power, then talks about how fun it is flooring it out of the corner. Definitely a car that follows the saying, it is more fun driving a slow car fast than a fast car slow. Give this car 230hp and 230 ft/lb torque and sure you can go faster and smoke the tires and be more of a hooligan. But then driving to work you are going to be at 3/10ths, and you lose the fun of flooring it out of the corner and rowing through tight gears.

I like this car.. and Thats coming from a 4 gen Camaro guy. Nothing beats a little car with good handling and a manual transmission. It might not be the fastest thing in the world, but no one knows how to drive in the U.S. anyway, so you can usually out run a Ferrari with a Dump truck where I live lmao. ( I wish I was joking, that really happens here.)
