Coronavirus: Click here for advice for car buying during the pandemic –

Introducing the new Peugeot 208! It’s a small hatchback that joins an already packed class, filled with world-renowned alternatives like the Ford Fiesta and VW Polo. How does it stack up against the rest of the pack? Well, it certainly looks the part, thanks to those slashing headlights and an incredibly cool interior. It’s even got an EV counterpart, the e-208! But are these updates enough to tempt you away from the other class leaders? Stick with Mat for his latest in-depth review to find out!

Congrats to the editor of this video. The lion and the "uhh burn" intercuts 05:57 as well as the piano note switches 01:48 were awesome. Please add more of that – it fits so well with Mat's funky character.

Peugeot lost the plot in the 1990s. I owned six in the 1970s, and my last was a 205 Gti in 1986. I loved them all..except for the rust. I havn't looked at one seriously since. Maybe I should look again.

The Peugeot designs the last years are amazing, futuristic, they remind me concept cars.

Brilliant looking car from Peugeot no doubt, but it's simply too small. Am happy with my Citroen C3 instead

No heated seats on UK version. Because of that – it's a no from me Peugeot – you tight sods. Shame, because I did consider it recently but I wasn't prepared to pay £1,400 to have heated seats on the GT Line with full leather that I don't like, want or need.

a sporty tuned version of this with 180-200hp would've been PERFECT! (and probably my next car. i'd even buy it new :D)

    a pity it won't be happening 🙁

Was going to buy the GT Line 130 until I realised it doesn't have heated seats or even an option to add them (unless you spend £1,400 on full leather which I don't want, like or need). Very poor of Peugeot to not offer heated fabric seats in the UK. Have ordered the new 1.5 eTSI Golf R-Line instead because it had an option to add heated seats for £270. Hip & lower back issues meant I had to order a car with seats that warm those parts. Shame really because the 208 looks fab.

New Peugeot costs more than the old model. I mean new lights look marvelous but they ain't worth few thousand bucks more lol. If they think they created luxury brand comparable with BMW they didn't 🙄

Bit more than a Ford Fiesta, less than a Volkswagen Polo, and a lot less, actually, than the new Renault Clio.
Peugeot 208's litre count: 311 litres.
    Ford Fiesta: 292 litres.
Yooka: Ha ha! Take that, Ford.
    Volkswagen Polo: 355 litres.
    Yooka: What?
Renault Clio: 391 (or 393) litres AKA The Largest Boot In The Class!

Also Yooka: I am absolutely wasted.
