When I first drove a Porsche, it was a 911.I did not like it at all. I felt like I am in a box, I did not knew where the edges was, and I did not like the whole perception of the car. Is that comfy? Yepp. Well made? Yepp. Fast? Maybe, but on normal roads, it gave me just nothing. Not my peace of cake. Then came the cayman and the boxster. Wow, so this is what Porsche is! It always gave me that smile, you know, it gave you that fun mood, where you respect the traffic rules, but everytime I change gears, steer, or… anything I do is just giving me a smile. Next one was the Cayenne and Macan. Oh god. After every other car in that class, I just found absolutley nothing to argue with. It is the surprise, the recognition of "so it can be good hah". I would choose Porsche over anything else. Nothing comes to my mind what I would tweak with. Good seats, logical controls, everything is within arms reach, and what you need is there. It is like walking, and if you start stretching the boundaries, then comes the wow. What it is capable of, is not what you would like to achieve. It is a car what does what you want. Always predictable, even beyond the limit. Porsches support you.
Lastly, the panamera. That is my dreamcar, a panamera for the weekdays, and a cayman for the weekends. Porsche (except the 911) made what all the car should be. Well made, but in every single detail, to a very high standard. Yes you could find hundreds of horsepowers with any other brand, good saloons and suvs and sporty ones, but as a whole car, everything component every detail is made to that high standard, and finetuned to make it a package which works together like it should be.

Why are most Americans, including you, unable to pronounce the name PORSCHE correctly? It either sounds like Porsha or just Porsh. A German, Ferdinand Porsche, built this car and his name has a clear 'e' at the end, which is pronounced like the E in Echo. Just say Porschecho, but leave the 'cho' away. Ferdinand's toenails curl up every time his name is mutilated and he's tired of it!

How do you think it is compared to a Lexus LS460 in terms of reliability and comfort?

  • What asshole losers would drive a used up Porsche?

It's an incredible bargain, until you need to fix anything. Porsche parts and service prices are insane.

Thing is the Camry will last me 500,000 miles and won’t cost me $500,000 every time I take it into service

All interiors should be black or grey.

Sorry, but suggesting the change from an interior full of neat physical switches to one with a glossy black touch panel that looks a scruffy fingerprinted mess as soon as you use it is in some sense "evolution" is beyond strange.

The interior is adequate, however the rear if the panamera is rather disappointing. Actually, it's simply horrid.
