Thanks to Warrantywise for helping us create this video –

This survey has been calculated using data taken from the extended car warranty data held by Warrantywise and the repairs they have received. A spokesman for Warranty Wise said: “Warrantywise does not release data for cars unless we have a minimum of 100 vehicles as a sample amount. This data relates to claims between 2010 and 2020 and may not represent the reliability of new vehicles as all of the data in the set is for vehicles over 3 years old.”

I enjoy the contrast between 240p car footage and the host at 1440p. Borderline experimental.

So far the most reliable cars I've had were Fiat and Ford (yes Fiat!!)…basically I've never had any serious issues with them. I also had a Mercedes which I sold 1 month before the warranty expired because it was so unreliable! I still have a Toyota which surprisingly is less reliable than Fiat/Ford since I had two major fault (one with Turbo and one with the alternator), but after fixing those (under warranty) now the car has 250000Km and still works fine. With Fiat Bravo I did 290000Km and never a fault, really great car. Ford Fiesta I'm at 140000Km and still works great, no issues. Ford S-Max is almost new (2 years old, 40000Km) and I only had a minor issue with a cable not properly fixed which was quickly repaired.

I'm surprised any owners of the Lexus RX pay money into an extended warranty scheme. It seems to be a complete waste of money when the chances of the car developing a fault are zero!?

My 2008 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 sxi estate should be on this list. I am in my mid 70's and I only do about 4,500 miles per year. That's the secret, keep your mileage down, stay at home!! LMAO.

I once hired a Chevy Spark which was the same model and colour as the one in this video. It was an absolute pig to drive. The gear box was crap! prefer my 2013 Vauxhall Corsa. Had it since it was 4 years old and no problems. The Corsa doesn't seem to feature in any survey wether they are reliable or unreliable cars.

14 out of the 15 cars on this list were either subcompact or compact cars and SUV's. Surprising? Not at all.

Bought a new car ONCE. NEVER AGAIN. Lost too much money. I did buy a 2nd Peugeot diesel estate with 250,000 miles. Used it for towing my horse trailer with 2 horses in it. Sold it for 500£ with nearly million miles on the clock. The old girl always passed her .mot as well. So really good buy.
