The thing I keep coming back to is the fact it’s a naturally aspirated v8. No supercharger/turbocharger. It does a 0-60 in 3 flat give or take. It’s also 65k or so. You get what you pay for price wise in terms of little mistakes. I think when Chevy cranks out the supercharged version it’s going to blow the doors off of the other supercars while being in the 100k dollar range.

Believe me, I'm a manual trans lover as much as the next guy, but this car i feel doesn't need it. And personally after having my mustang GT with a DCT which is similar in power to this just a little less, I REALLY grew to love the dual clutch in modern cars.

The best vettes haven't come out yet. They start with the Stingray, and then they move on to the higher trim levels as the years of that body style progress. The the that's out right now is the base model.

Great review, I just reviewed a base model and actually really enjoyed the car. I would love to see how much of a difference the magnetic suspension makes. The car just felt like the front end sharpness wasn't quite there for me.

Understeer goes away with the track camber setup. This car is a tour de force at this price. GM absolutely nailed it and I’m not a GM or Corvette fan boy…except for C1 and C2.

I realize I'm in the minority… Or maybe not. There's absolutely no denying, mechanically, as far as the numbers go, this car is incredible. And an incredible value when you put it up against the world's best. But it's like the new Camaro. Great platform, stout powertrain, and in the proper trim a very hard car to beat around the track. But I just don't understand what GM is thinking as far as design goes. Not so much the interior. It's light years ahead of what Corvettes used to be (as it needs to be to compete with a much more diverse field of competitors) – but my God this thing just doesn't have a good angle. It's just a convoluted mishmash of angry angles and pointy panels! Put this up next to an LC500 (I think they're around the same price) – or to really emphasize the point, park it next to a new NSX. I realize the price gap, yes. But what I'm saying (it is just my opinion, don't get bent…) is GM really has to clean up the design to be more organic and ageless. It might be because I just came from a YouTube video about the new Ford GT, and then I clicked on the picture of this. Hate Ford all you want (I certainly don't) – but that car is an absolute piece of rolling art. I think/hope as time passes GM will tweak the car and do away with some of the excess but for now – if I had the money! – it would be an lC500 for me.

I’m of the opinion that car reviewers are contractually obligated to opine for a manual, but secretly prefer a modern, non cvt, automatic. They’re concerned the comment sections will be filled with slack jawed idiots blasting them for daring to like an automatic, as If not complaining about the lack of manuals makes them less of an “expert”.
