New Audi RS5 Sportback vs 2013 Audi RS5 // Clash Of Quattros

This is the new 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback, and it meets its elder, the 2013 Audi RS5 which costs less and offers V8 thrills. Both are fitted with the excellent 60:40 rear bias quattro system, and both fulfil the role of an Audi icon. The 2013 hits 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and the new one does it in 3.8 seconds. So can the old one stack up, and is the new one worth the massive premium? James and Thomas jump behind the wheel of both to experience them and discuss them inside and out. Watch and enjoy!

Thanks to H.J.Pfaff Audi Newmarket for use of the new RS5!

Why are RS cars so good? They either have the best boosted engines ever or they scream and wail something like a supercar and will be the coolest daily drivers without sacrificing anything. I want an RS, I don't care which one

I've owned the first generation 2008 S5 with the 4.2 V8, and 6 speed manual for almost 3 years now. It's finished in factory paint sprint blue so more of a sky blue comparatively to the RS5 in this video. I just want to say…

This car has made my life brighter every single day i drive it (and darker when those repair bills come up) and honestly I cant imagine ever selling it at this point. The naturally aspirated V8 is just a dream to drive. The cabin is such a great place to be seated. Theres carbon fiber trim everywhere and the Bang Oslon sound system sounds supreme. Anytime anyone sits with me, they always compliment the speaker sounds even tho they always have a much newer car than me. The manual gearbox is a little underwhelming because of how heavy the front end of the car can be, so thats my only gripe really. It just needs a more sport clutch. The cars curvature is perfect. Its understated but at the same time so elegant and sporty. The blue on mine really sparkles in the sunlight and looks cool in the night time. The LED lights that come in the front (unlike the newer ones on the RS5 in the video) are a signature look that can tell apart this car from anything. The engine is rock solid and built to last, its just everything else around the engine that is annoying maintenance that comes up which is the only real big downfall of owning an older german V8.

Anyways, I really love the RS5's and wish I had one instead but sometimes I look at my S5 and just see the most perfect driving machine that doesnt need to be anymore powerful (like the twin turbos on this 2013 RS5) and the 6 speed manual just makes it a dream. Much love.
