The 2022 GMC Hummer is the perfect EV, here’s why – Cooley On Cars

It can swallow a battery big enough for 350 miles of range while sort of hiding the cost.

I enjoy Cooley's reviews even when I don't agree with them lol Am I glad we'll be seeing more EVs & thus giving consumers more choice? Absolutely. Will the Hummer EV be a big player in that? Don't think so, at least not until even somewhat affordable versions come available in ….2024. 350 miles range for 112K?? Who takes a 6-figure vehicle rock climbing? I think this vehicle is too big, too heavy, too expensive & too short on range and bed (5 foot) for the price. Looks conventionally good but in the end, Cyber Truck (include over the air updates) & Rivian offer equal speed, utility & range for a lot less cash.

Too bad it's too damn expensive for the common man.Too bad it's already sold out before the assembly line has even fired up.

Let's not forget that 11,000 lb/ft is at-wheel torque. Realistically (the way we have always measured torque) it's more like 1,000 lb/ft.

I just don't ever see the Venn diagram of EV enthusiast and Off-Road enthusiasts ever intersecting. Who is this for other than meeting CAFE numbers?

If they just made a normal hummer with v8 5.3 engine and 6.2 to compete directly with Jeep wrangler or Land rover defender
    With front and rear differential
It would be crazy and it will outsale them all
It is sad it is just a show nobody gonna buy and use it

None of these companies are going to be profitable. Who gives a hoot about 18 cameras and crab walking capabilities. Give me a 2008 level of comfort, with an 86' toyota level of reliability, for under 40k, and maybe I'll consider making the change. Otherwise you're just pandering to the rich.
