I like this guy, but I don't agree on the leased cars. You don't own a leased car end of.

Yanny, you're describing pcp finance, at the end of the term you can hand the car to the finance company with no balloon, pcp you're paying the monthly on the depreciation value over the term.

Finance is more akin to a mortgage than leasing (almost like an interest only mortgage). You don't own a car with a lease BUT leasing actually makes a lot of sense, financially it is like buying with a guaranteed sale after a fixed period of time. Although I had no idea about the BMW deal for influencers, thanks for sharing! Not to mention you can invest the difference.

Finance is effectively a lease. You can hand it back at the end in exactly the same way

Been driving my 2006 Ford Focus since 2015, cost me £3000, it hasn’t cost me much in maintenance and is still running. Recently looking to get a used VW Golf GTE as electric is a bit out of my price range.
But even though my income has more than doubled since I bought the focus, I can’t get over the £18-20k price for this car.
I have no idea what is the best way to buy it. As I said, total cost of my car over the last 5 and a half years is £3200, spend less than £1k on repairs in that time.
So if I throw everything including insurance, tax, minus fuel. Likely cost me around £6-7k for 5 and a half years.
So to spend £18-20k on something that will be worth £10-12k in a couple years, just a bit unsure what to do.

Isn't it complicated that you buy and sell cars often? Like personally, the reason why we buy the car is for keeps.

  • Thank You for being polite in explaining the process in the way you Lease, Finance & Purchase your cars.
Even though we’re out over here in Australia 🇦🇺 & our process is a little different, your information is helpful 👍
