It would work for me as a second car. It is cute. I love the color.

"It's about what you actually need every day" . . . Which is why in the UK I have a bicycle, and hire a car on those few times a year I might need one 🙂

Nice spin but seriously, what, was this car built to compete with the 2011 Nissan Leaf?

Loved the 3 door concept but I hate that yet another brand stuck 2 more doors in there for practicality. Even if you only have people at the back 1% of the time. Just saying…

Top gear this year has been absolutely dreadful. It's more of a very bad comedy show than a car show. Ridiculous.

Almost every journalist overlooks the effect of heat and A/C on range. The Drive did a piece on this: "In 20 degree weather, the average range of the car fell by 12 percent without the use of heat. When the cabin heater was flipped on, the tests showed that range dropped an astounding 41 percent. When tested at 95 degrees, range dropped 4 percent from baseline. When the AC was blowing cool air, the range feel by around 17 percent." Running accessories eats massively into range. So on a winter morning, if you forgot to pre-heat your E, or need to take an unexpected trip, and all of a sudden your 130-mile range may become 77 miles. Running A/C on a hot day? You're looking at 107 miles.
Maybe Harris covers this in the full film, but it's disappointing to see this piece continuously left out.

Is there not a serious oversight in this arguement?
99% of journeys might be shorter but the big problem with that arguement is that it fails to acknowledge the amount of time between journeys.
Is there enough time to recharge the batteries???

For example, the average taxi driver, I'd imagine, rarely does a journey more than 10-20 miles, so surely the Honda e is perfect for them? Of course not!
I accept that for a lot of people this range is more than enough. But to suggest it's suitable for 99% of the time is absurd.

Go to any “Tesla YouTube channel” and you’ll find the majority of the people from the EU comment “We don’t need an expensive Tesla, just give us a small hot hatch with less range and a cheap price…!” I’d say Honda is giving them exactly what they asked for.

This 'new' Top Gear is utter rubbish. Not a single presenter with an ounce of personality. Barely any humour – certainly not any intelligent humour. Why the BBC keeps beating this dead series god only knows. They just don't have a clue!

  • Callum Munro

Yeah but you still need a car for that 1% of the time. I do a long journey about every month so I still need a car that can do it. Renting cars or long Uber journeys etc are such a faff. You need a car that fulfils all your needs.

Question: Does Honda have formal written plans to upgrade the battery pack in future? Because that might make sense; if they were to be working on a reasonable technology that could get you back from town…..
