Very cool car indeed and I can appreciate why you searched high and low for a nice example.
Having managed a German auto repair shop I can tell you that aside from the custom Porsche-specific bits, much of the car should be similar to a standard Audi 80 of that era. That said, be forewarned that VAG (Volkswagen Audi) can be spotty when it comes to maintaining parts for older cars. Case in point, I had a customer bring in an Audi A8 of similar vintage with leaky power steering hoses. One hose that I ordered was the last one in North America and the other hose was simply NLA (no longer available) anywhere. Aftermarket hoses were not an option, so we had to have the second hose rebuilt by a hydraulics specialist at great expense. No bueno. Also, interior bits and pieces as well as switchgear are pretty crappy during that era, so there’s that too.
All that being said, the RS2 is an amazing piece of machinery. Enjoy many years of driving pleasure with it.
