I think the reasons new cars devalue so quickly is because of the way people buy them. Nobody buys these cars outright anymore and because it's all on finance it's almost making a lump sum purchase redundant (which isn't a good thing). Because people don't bother keeping cars more than 3-5 years generally they're becoming almost a throwaway item. If you paid £30,000 cash i'm pretty sure you'd hold onto the car for much longer than 3 years (and I can guarantee it would be looked after much better) where as couple hundred a month then just trade it in for a new one is becoming the norm. This constant turnover I think is inadvertantly killing off the car market. This is also why most new cars are just bland generic boxes that are cross manufactured (take the 107/c1/aygo….all the same bland car just with different badges) full of the gimmicks people want…..and it's only going to get worse!

Kinda Dumb putting up a video which might put people off buying a new car if the company behind channel business is to help sell new cars.
Still enjoyed the video tho. 😂

I'm surprised at the Volvo S90's depreciation. I thought even a second-hand one a couple of years old is still a very desirable car.

I guess it's better for us plebs that we can pick one up on the cheap.

Basically never buy a luxury car unless you're ridiculously rich, and never buy a British, Italian, or French car if you're poor or middle class

This video could also be titled " best used car buys" As depreciation no matter how bad during first 3 years slows down and these cars can be had for fraction of the price when brand new.
