Damn, that’s big: MBUX Hyperscreen

Mercedes-Benz’s new dashboard-dominating infotainment display is not only huge, it’s also home to a new infotainment system that should be faster and easier to use.

whats the big deal exactly?? seems like a natural evolution of streamlined displays when money is no issue

Mercedes claiming this is a 56" display is like me putting my laptop on one side of my garden, my phone at the other, then claiming my phone has a 2000" display.

A lot of the car companies have a large screen but I think Mercedes got all of them beat.
    Especially the width.

Isnt’t this just a fancy version of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s multitude of screens?

Tesla should do a similar pilar to pilar screen for the Cybertruck. Particularly since it aims at a market which offers luxury packages instead of minimalist approach (i.e. Ford F-150 Platinum and King Ranch, and RAM 1500). Although unique, the minimalist approach of the Cybertruck’s dash resembles more a Honda Ridgeline than a more desirable truck.

I still don't get it. What's so special about that screen? The fact that it goes from the driver side to the passenger side? You still have to control it with touch, which is really bad for driving. Drivers need more physical controls and less screens.

Honestly that's too much screen for me. But I like the design, and if Mercedes had finally gotten to low levels of lag on inputs (a small but essential thing), I'd call it a step forward.

But I will admit, I'm more looking forward to the car it's in (the EQS) than the system itself.

Screens and grills are too big these days. How much is it going to cost to repair and replace these nonessential gimmicks? A well designed car should last for 20 years. How many years will a LED TV installed in a moving, vibrating vehicle last?

Imagine the cost of replacing this unit when it eventually breaks lol

Horrible idea. Can you IMAGINE the costs to replace this panel in a vehicle if it's damaged or stops working AFTER the warranty expires? The new infotainment systems on the 2020 Toyota 4Runner is $3,000 to replace. How much do you think THIS would costs? Especially on a GERMAN car? Cars with this panel inside scream to be leased. I feel for the poor bastard who buys a car with this panel after it's out of warranty.

Honestly I would not like this at all because it’s just one sheet of glass… like that’s so boring and lifeless. And in comparison to the new s class the s class wins in my book

i faith in mercedes is lost…..this will be a 3k extra plus you will need to add 2 other packages to be able to add this screen package.
