Back in the 1980's we built a Ford 2.3ltr 4 cylinder that on the dyno came out at 300hp, and we thought that was about the pinnacle of what could be wrung out of a 4 cylinder. Boy were we wrong. Pulling 600+ hp out of a 2.0 liter engine is pure magic to me, and to make the sound rival that of a V8 is incredible. And then to have it weigh only 85 kilos, wow!

They mention running High Compression, anyone know what kind of engine compression ratios they are running? Sounds so good! Love DTM

I might stop watching F1 and devote my time to DTM instead.
You did a superb job with the engine. It produces a gorgeous, exciting sound!

My 2014 A4 allroad engine is dead at 114k miles. Piston seals failed and cylinder 1 wall is scratched.
It was meticulously cared for, never driven hard and all maintenance/repairs were done at the dealership its whole life. Changed the oil every 5-7k miles instead of the 10k recommended. Warranty expired at 100k miles, so I'm out of luck because replacing the engine will likely cost as much as the allroad is worth.

Such beautiful cars that seduce you with their curves and performance, but then leave you heartbroken and wallet broken 🙁
